In photography teaching, beginners often learn a three-point method, S-shaped, contrast, and frame when learning composition methods. After these basic skills are proficient, we can use bolder compositions to create photos, Of course, these artistic photos are not easy to take well, but as long as you practice and refer to other people’s photos, you can also take amazing photos! Now let’s take a look at the three breaking composition methods, and refer to it!

(1) Blanks

“Leaving white space” is very common in Chinese traditional paintings. We also use it when taking photos. It is different from the common “filling the frame”. This composition uses a lot of blank space to express shock. Of course, “leave blank” does not necessarily have to be white, as long as it is a “space”!

(2) Intermediate Composition

In the composition of the rule of thirds, we will put the subject at the intersection, but in some cases, it is even more impressive to put the subject in the center of the middle. This method is very common for square photos, but it can also be used for photos with a 3:2 or 4:3 aspect ratio! However, the movements of the characters or the environment must match the feeling to be beautiful.

(3) Reverse the Photo

Who said you must take pictures normally? Try to reverse the whole photo upside down, or focus on the reflective surface, sometimes it can bring more deep effect, if the theme matches, it can also express the emotion of reflection (this is more difficult to understand, you can imagine yourself)! This is useful when taking reflections or black and white photos.
